Kyle Rittenhouse, the 17-year-old gunman accused of killing two protesters during a demonstration over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, received help from actor Ricky Schroder to post $2 million bail.
Rittenhouse’s attorney, Lin Wood, announced his client’s release on Friday (Nov. 20) – sending a shout out to the former child star.
“KYLE RITTENHOUSE IS OUT OF JAIL. God bless ALL who donated to help #FightBack raise required $2M cash bail. Special thanks to Actor Ricky Schroder @rickyshroder1 & [My Pillow CEO] Mike Lindell @realMikeLindell for putting us over the top,” Wood tweeted.
Rittenhouse is charged with killing Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, on Aug. 25. He traveled from his home in Antioch, Ill., to Kenosha, Wis., where people were protesting the police shooting that paralyzed Blake.

Schroder posed for a picture with Rittenhouse and Wood to celebrate the alleged gunman’s release.
News of Rittenhouse’s release ignited outrage.
“It’s amazing how these people like Ricky Schroder & Mike Lindell will proclaim to be pro-life, but turn around & bail out Kyle Rittenhouse who allegedly murdered two people advocating for Black people not being killed by cops. A true showcase in pure racism!” tweeted reporter April Ryan.
Others underscored the injustice of Rittenhouse’s release, as they marked the sixth anniversary on Sunday (Nov. 22) of the fatal police shooting of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old Cleveland boy gunned down by a cop while playing with a toy gun in a park.
“6 years ago, Tamir Rice was shot and killed by Cleveland police while playing with a toy gun in a park. Kyle Rittenhouse is currently out on bail for actually killing two people hundreds of miles from his home. Two systems. And these systems failed Tamir,” tweeted the Ohio Young Democrats.
Former Cleveland police officer Timothy Loehmann, who fired the fatal shots, was cleared of wrongdoing but fired for failing to disclose on his job application that he was previously forced out by another police department.
