Tony Award-winning actress Viola Davis has set some boundaries in place for her 10-year-old daughter Genesis, who sent her an extravagant Christmas list this year.
While speaking with Jimmy Kimmel on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday (Dec. 17) the Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star said that after her little one made a list of what she wanted for the holidays this year, she ultimately denied her requests for the lavish presents.
“She had things on that list where I had to say, ‘Let me tell you something, okay Genesis? I don’t care how much money you think mommy has, 98 percent of the stuff on this list you’re not gonna get,'” the Oscar winner explained.

The proud mother said that didn’t care “how nice” her daughter was, she would not be receiving the more expensive items.
Davis and her husband and actor Julius Tennon adopted Genesis in 2011, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“‘You’re not getting that iPhone. You’re not getting that camera with the tripod on it. You’re not getting half the stuff on this list. That’s the kind of mommy I am,” she continued. “Do you know how much that iPhone cost? $365 — do you have $365? Because I’m not spending that on a phone.’”
