Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is one step closer to being a free man, and he has a new photo on California’s Sex Offender registry to commend the occasion.
As reported by RadarOnline, Petty recently completed 120 days of house arrest — most likely spent at Minaj’s marvelous mansion — after he violated the conditions of his parole by making very, very public threats against rapper Cardi B’s husband, Offset. Petty was even recently spotted out with Minaj at a Knicks game on March 31.
But Petty’s past is still very much a part of his present. Accused of first-degree rape and convicted in the 1990s, he served four years in prison after reaching a plea deal to reduce charges to attempted rape. He was required to register as a sex offender as part of the conditions of his plea deal.
California’s Megan’s Law website provides a list of all convicted sex offenders; in a new photo on Petty’s profile, he’s leaning into the denim shirt trend stirred by Beyoncé’s countrified album, “Cowboy Carter.”
In addition to including his height (5-foot-9) and weight (170 pounds) Petty’s Megan’s Law profile listed his offense as “attempted rape by force or fear.”
And yet, it seems Petty hasn’t completely put his fear tactics behind him: Radar Online reported that Petty and Minaj were recently ordered to pay $600,000 to a security guard who claimed Petty attacked him backstage at Minaj’s show in Germany.
So if you see Queen Nicki looking a little annoyed with her husband every now and then — as seen in the video below — one can only imagine why.
