Rapper Young Thug is known for his eccentric fashion style, which makes him the perfect candidate to host a digital jacket design challenge.
On Tuesday, Adobe announced a competition as part of the Adobe Creativity Tour. Contestants are invited to show “what Punk means to them” by using jackets personally curated by Thugger himself.
“Design a jacket print inspired by Young Thug’s upcoming album, Punk,” the contest copy reads. “Each of three grand prize winners will receive $3,000 as well as a jacket featuring their design that will be worn by Young Thug.”
Participants get to browse through a selection of Punk assets that they can use in their original print design. After downloading their selection, they can use Adobe Creative Suite tools to personally design their own print. They have until September 21 to submit their designs. The fan favorite will be selected after voting ends October 1.
Designers are encouraged to promote their designs on social media using the hashtag #YoungThugxAdobe and get their friends and followers to vote for their work.
Three grand prize winners will receive $3,000 cash, a jacket that will be created using the winner’s artwork, a signed photo of Young Thug wearing their jacket, and 12-month Adobe All-Apps Creative Cloud subscription.
“I’m so excited to be partnering with Adobe on this project,” Young Thug said in a statement to Complex. “Creativity is in my blood and my fans are my soul. I can’t wait to see how they all express themselves creatively within my world. Getting to see them involved inspires me to go even further. Creativity is PUNK.”
Ten runner-ups will also be selected to receive $250 cash, a signed print of their design, and a 6-month Adobe All-Apps Creative Cloud subscription. One fan favorite will receive $1,000 cash prize, a signed print of their design, a Young Thug merchandise bundle, and a 12-month Adobe All-Apps Creative Cloud subscription.
“Creativity comes in many forms, but combine music, design, and fashion in the form of visionary artist Young Thug, and you’ve got magic,” Ann Lewnes, CMO and executive vice president of corporate strategy and development at Adobe, said “Adobe’s thrilled to be partnering with creator extraordinaire Young Thug on a number of exciting creative projects around the launch of Punk.”
