Mariah Carey gave us a rare glimpse into her relationship with billionaire boyfriend James Packer, and yes, their romance is as dreamy as it seems. Appearing on The Steve Harvey Show on Wednesday (November 24), Carey shared how a casual outing with Packer sparked her interest.

“We first met in Aspen,” the pop icon told host Steve Harvey. “A couple years ago we were at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off.”
Harvey then cracked, “He’s a lucky guy,” to which Carey smiled warmly and added, “I’m lucky, too.”
And speaking of lucky, we can’t help but mention the jaw-dropping diamond Van Cleef & Arpels necklace, a recent gift from Packer, that the singer wore on the show. “Oh, this old thing?” she mused to Harvey. “[It was] a very, very big surprise, very nice.”
The couple first stepped out together at the premiere of The Intern in September. A month later, she talked with Entertainment Tonight about how the normally reserved Packer is navigating life in the spotlight. “I don’t think either one of us thought, ‘Here we are, making a debut.’ He’s not that guy. It was a lot for him…. I just automatically pose. I can’t help it!”
Carey’s ex, Nick Cannon, filed for divorce in 2014. They continue to co-parent their 4-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, and recently came together to throw a luxe party in Beverly Hills on Halloween.
