Chadwick Boseman was honored again for his remarkable legacy in Hollywood.
The award-winning actor, who died at age 43 in August after a four-year battle with colon cancer, posthumously received the Hero of the Ages Awards at the 2020 MTV and TV Awards on Sunday night (Dec. 6).
Marvel stars Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr., presented the late Black Panther lead with the award, which recognizes stars who prove they are heroes both on and off the screen.
“There was something different and special about Chadwick Boseman. Mr. Boseman truly embodied what it meant to be a superhero,” said Downey Jr., who stars in the Marvel film Iron Man. “His impact as a groundbreaking leading man, as an icon on screen… it won’t be quantified by the box office records he broke but by the legion of fans who will celebrate him for many years to come.”

Cheadle added: “With every role he created a new legion of fans. He has an incredible power to unify people. The way he lived his life united people behind a higher purpose — and that will be his legacy.”
Boseman, who played a list of inspiring roles including Jackie Robinson in 42, Thurgood Marshall in Marshall, James Brown in Get on Up, and King T’Challa in the Marvel film Black Panther, was recognized not only for his historical roles but his focus on giving back to communities and visiting children coping with illnesses, People reports.
