If you, like the rest of the world, are still blasting The Life of Pablo, then this Kanye West exhibit is for you. New York City-based marketing manager Brianni Taylor takes her love for Mr. West to another level by curating an exhibit inspired by the rapper.
Taylor told Complex, “I’ve always wanted to curate an art exhibit that was meaningful to me. I look at Kanye West as a visionary. I think his music, his videos, his style, his vision as a whole is pretty much flawless. I feel that Kanye is such a great talent, and sometimes people let the things he says via social media or television dilute his real messages […] Kanye is very futuristic, way before his time, he sees things before it happens. I don’t see a reason NOT to have an exhibition inspired by his vision, inspired by him.”
The event is intended to raise money for non-profit The Kids League, an organization that creates workshops to educate children in low-income neighborhoods. Taylor promised an open bar, food, giveaways and an “amazing Kanye West inspired play list.” The exhibit will be held on Thursday, May 19, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Avant Garde by MMC in lower Manhattan. With a vision like this, hopefully West will make a surprise appearance. Get your tickets here.
