Kevin Hart Says He Won’t Return To Work Until 2020

Kevin Hart is reportedly taking the rest of 2019 off after a September car accident sent him to the hospital.

The actor/comedian’s attorney reached out to Entertainment Weekly who relayed a statement made by Hart. The 40-year-old mentioned Jared Black and Rebecca Broxterman, the two other people who were in the car when the accident occurred.

“I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery,” Hart said.

Black was driving Hart’s recently-purchased 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Malibu Hills, California when he lost control and veered off the road, crashing the vehicle in an embankment.

Both Hart and Black suffered “major back injuries” in the crash while Broxterman did not sustain major injuries, according to a report filed by California Highway Patrol. Hart ended up having to have surgery on his back as a result but is expected to make a full recovery.

Part of his rehabilitation is going to involve Kevin Hart taking some time off. Andrew Brettler, his attorney, says Hart won’t be returning to work until early 2020.

“While he’s doing a little work here and there for [Jumanji: The Next Level], he doesn’t expect to be fully back to work until the new year,” Brettler said.

E! News has reported that even though Hart can walk on his own, he’s still mostly sitting throughout most of the day and must work on his physical therapy.

We’re wishing Kevin Hart makes a speedy and full recovery.
