Amanda Seales And Her ‘Insecure’ Co-star Exchange Words

While fans anxiously await the return of HBO’s Insecure, one of the show’s cast members, Amanda Seales, has been making headlines, and now another one of the dramedy’s stars has entered the chat.

After Seales went on a viral rant, slamming a woman — now specified as Issa Rae‘s publicist — for allegedly refusing her entry into a Black Hollywood Emmys after-party, actor Sarunas Jackson has chimed in, and he was extremely candid with his thoughts.

During an episode of her podcast, Small Doses, Seales went into great detail about the incident that took place at the Emmys after-party, which she mentioned was actually created by Rae’s longtime publicist and friend, Vanessa Anderson. Seales made a point to mention that she and Anderson “are not friends” and have never quite gotten along.

“She has never been nice to me, ever,” she said. “She’s always had a curtness, and she’s always seemed to be bothered simply by my demeanor, my way of communicating with her, etc. At a certain point it became, ‘Well, this is not someone I need to speak to because I don’t work for her, she doesn’t work for me. There’s no reason for us to interact for all intents and purposes. So, we don’t.'”

Seales, who plays Tiffany DuBois on Insecure, said that she was met with a cold response from Anderson after allegedly having issues getting into the same event last year. She claimed that, upon bringing it up to Rae, the show writer and creator stressed that she did not want to be involved.

When recalling the incident from this year’s event, where she was escorted out by security, Seales said she was hurt that none of her cast mates intervened.

“I’m also seeing people seeing this happen and they’re doing nothing,” she said. “If I saw this happening to someone else, I would have been all up in that s**t.”

In response to MadameNoire‘s coverage of Seales’ initial comments, Jackson, who plays Alejandro ‘Dro’ Peña on the show, shared his thoughts in a now-deleted tweet.

“You can’t be a disrespectful a*s human being and expect people to want to hang out with you,” he tweeted. “It’s quite simple. Sit it out.”

Several users retweeted his comments in agreement, prompting Seales to respond in a series of tweets:

“Some people like me. Some people don’t,” she wrote in one tweet. “But I do not lie. Have a good day.”

She continued in another: “Plus, the fact is a lot of folks don’t care abt the truth anyway. They just wanna go with the version that supports their already determined POV,” before ending, “More importantly thank u to those who show me love.”
