Kevin Hart was involved in a severe car accident over the Labor Day weekend on Mulholland Highway in California. The comedian suffered three spinal fractures as a result of it and required surgery to treat his injuries.
TMZ is now reporting that he is on his way to recovery outside of the hospital and is “grateful to be alive.”
According to the site, he was discharged from Northridge hospital after 10 days, before entering a rehabilitation facility.
As previously reported, the comic’s 1970 Plymouth Barracuda was involved in the crash. The vehicle was reportedly being driven by his acquaintance Jared Black while his fiancée Rebecca Broxterman, who is also Hart’s wife’s personal trainer, was in the backseat. Broxterman reportedly did not suffer any injuries, while Black suffered some to his back.
The crash reportedly occurred when Black lost control of the car, causing it to roll into an embankment.
Hart was scheduled to appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show soon after the crash took place, but was unable to show up. His Jumanji co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showed up in his place.
