Halle Berry Speaks Out On Death Of ‘B.A.P.S’ Co-Star


Actress Natalie Desselle-Reid has passed away at the age of 53. She is being mourned by her fans and colleagues on social media, including by her one time co-star Halle Berry.

The two starred in the 1997 comedy B.A.P.S., which has become a cult classic.

Berry wrote on Instagram,”I’m in total shock. completely heartbroken. gonna need a minute.”

She also included a short clip of the two of them in B.A.P.S.

Desselle-Reid’s manager Dolores Robinson confirmed her death via social media on Monday (Dec. 7) and revealed she passed away from colon cancer.

Robinson wrote on Instagram, “It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Natalie this morning from colon cancer. She was a bright light in this world. A queen. An extraordinary mother and wife. Her diverse career touched so many and she will be loved forever. Naturally, we are grieving and processing this profound loss and we thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Desselle-Reid was also known for her roles in Def Jam’s How to Be a Player, the 1997 version of Cinderella starring Brandy, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family and more.

According to PEOPLE, she is survived by her husband, Leonard, and children Sereno, Summer and Sasha.
